Outreach and Special Services
It is our goal at the TVG to reach those that are in need, and let them know they are never alone in their struggle. We strive to embrace community and help grow the understanding, that if we stand together our unity will make a stronger and healthier community. The Special Programs we share within the community are self-sufficiency tools through food preservation classes, food harvesting and foraging tools, work experience, letters of recommendation, SNAP/OHP/housing application assistance and community resource sharing. We also help during the Winter holidays with an extra supplemental distribution of holiday food items and gifts for children 17 years and under. If you would like to learn more please use the contact form below. We look forward to the opportunity to answer your questions and help in any way we can.
Our food distribution is the core of our organization. Through the years we have grown from helping 60 families each week, to over 150 families each week. A true gleaning program where individuals and families that receives food, volunteer/work for their food benefits. We gather food from many different sources, including Oregon Food Bank, Portland Police Sunshine Division, local grocery stores, and partner non-profits as well as, gleaning foods from fields and backyards within our community.
Community is at the forefront of our mission and objectives. Working to help provide food security for all of those in need, without exception.

Established in 2010 along with the City of Beaverton Community Gardens, this is a 4000 sq.ft. area dedicated to learning and growing food for the TVG members. This program is run by our organizations members, and has brought in thousands of pounds of fresh, organic produce for low-income children, disabled, and elderly in our community. The gardens are a great place to help teach those that have a desire to learn how to grow and cultivate fresh foods for their families. At the TVG we believe in providing all the tools needed to succeed in the areas of food security and self-sufficiency.
We are always looking for community members that would like to join us in the gardens. If you are interested please send us an email or message and we can get you the information on how to volunteer or donate for this great cause.
